How can the motor operate above 60Hz in the ATV31 or ATV312 drives?
Product Line:
ATV31 ATV312
Environment:
All
Cause:
Changing high speed / max frequency
Resolution:
Parameter HSP determines the maximum speed the drive can operate. Parameter tFr determines the maximum value that HSP can be adjusted.
By default, tFr is set to 60Hz. When changing the Motor Frequency - bFr this changes tFr to 72Hz.
To increase the maximum speed above 72Hz - Go to the drc menu and Set parameter tFr. This can be adjusted up to 500Hz. After saving the change, go to the SEt menu > HSP and adjust up to the desired speed.
If your motor is a specialty motor that is rated for a frequency other than 50Hz. or 60Hz. such as a 300Hz. rated spindle motor, change parameter FrS under the DRC menu to match the rated frequency of the motor.

Power wires installation for AC drives
Product Line:
Altivar drives
Environment:
All
Cause:
Installation
Resolution:
Good wiring practice requires the separation of control wiring from power wiring. Power wiring to the motor must have the maximum possible separation from all other power wiring, whether from the same drive controller or other drive controllers. Do not run power and control wiring, or multiple power wiring, in the same conduit. This separation reduces the possibility of coupling electrical transients from power circuits into control circuits or from motor power wiring into other power circuits.
Use of special shielded cables does not reduce or eliminate the need for cable separation.
Please refer to the installation documents for more information.

This is used to avoid the inrush currents of certain loads, particularly lighting.
This solution involves a low leakage current traveling through the electronics which generates residual voltage at the contact terminals, even when open. This can cause problems when very low loads (small relays, LEDs, etc.) are operated, as the receiver may be "held on" by this spurious voltage.
Note:
For this type of application (low load), a conventional electromechanical programmable time switch should be used.

BACnet device name change
Product Line:
ATV61 drives with VW3A3315 or VW3A3319 BACnet option card.
Environment:
ATV61 drives with BacNet option card
Cause:
The object name that holds the device name can not be modified and always is ATV61.
Resolution:
The ATV61 Bacnet cards (VW3A3315 or VW3A3319) produced after November 2014 have Firmware version V1.1ie09.
This version automatically assigns the device name to ATV61, followed by the 3 digit address set by the DIP switches on the option card (called the MAC address).
As long as there are no duplicate addresses, there will not be any duplicate names.
Prior to this firmware release, it was not possible to change the device name for the ATV61.
For older versions, the workaround is to assign a device name directly to the drive via the 7 [Display Config] -- 7.1 [User parameters] -- [device Name].
This name will appear in the BACnet controller under Deivce Object Type -- "descripition". Please check the attached example screen capture.

UL 1436 refers to them as "indicators" rather than testers, and Square D does not endorse them or recommend their use. They are subject to error in the form of giving a false negative result.
The UL approved method of testing an AFCI circuit breaker is to press the push-to-test button when installed in an energized load center or panel. This test injects a signal into the AFCI sensor that looks like an arc to the AFCI. A properly functioning AFCI will trip when the test button is pushed as long as the panel is energized and the neutral pigtail/plug on neutral connection is made to the neutral bar.
Paragraph 31.8.1 of the UL 1436 standard requires the AFCI indicator markings or instructions to effectively state that the test button on the AFCI circuit breaker demonstrates proper operation.
InF fault on the Altivar 31 and ATV312 drives.
Product Line:
Altivar 31 and ATV312 drives
Environment:
All
Cause:
Internal fault
Resolution:
InF indicates an internal fault.
It can occur if there are loose connections inside the drive or if the drive is subjected to electromagnetic interference. Check the line voltage to the drive.
Also, check the voltages on the control terminals, +10 to COM and 24V to COM. It has been observed that improper wiring of the inputs or external potentiometer can overload the internal power supplies of the drive. This may result in InF fault.
Incorrect connections on the RJ45 ModBus/CANopen port can also cause this. Verify wiring, particularly to pin 7 (10VDC supply for external keypad).
