If the value of ParamKW is different, then it is referring to any modification done on the configuration of the NOC (most likely in the DTM browser). If you do not see any changes in this section of the program, then no actual modification was done. For example, if the IP address of a device in the DTM browser is changed and then changed back to its original value, a time stamp will still exist, resulting in the ParamKW changing.
How can the motor operate above 60Hz in the ATV31 or ATV312 drives?
Product Line:
ATV31 ATV312
Environment:
All
Cause:
Changing high speed / max frequency
Resolution:
Parameter HSP determines the maximum speed the drive can operate. Parameter tFr determines the maximum value that HSP can be adjusted.
By default, tFr is set to 60Hz. When changing the Motor Frequency - bFr this changes tFr to 72Hz.
To increase the maximum speed above 72Hz - Go to the drc menu and Set parameter tFr. This can be adjusted up to 500Hz. After saving the change, go to the SEt menu > HSP and adjust up to the desired speed.
If your motor is a specialty motor that is rated for a frequency other than 50Hz. or 60Hz. such as a 300Hz. rated spindle motor, change parameter FrS under the DRC menu to match the rated frequency of the motor.

How do I configure the Pressure or PI [PID Regulator] control configuration in the ATV312?
Product Line:
ATV312 ALtivar 312
Environment:
All model numbers
Cause:
Activating PID control
Resolution:
Several factory default functions are incompatible with PI control so they must first be deactivated before PI control can be set up.
First, go to the FUN menu and turn off the Summing and un-assign summing inputs.
From the FUn- menu, SAI submenu, make sure SA2 and SA3 are both set to NO (by default SA2 is set to AI2).
Then go to FUN menu and turn off the Preset Speed function.
Go to FUn- menu, PSS submenu, set PS4 to NO (default is LI4) and then set PS2 to NO (default is LI3).
You will not be able to set PS2 to No until after PS4 had been changed to No, so be sure to do it in the order listed.
Then you should have access to the PI Submenu.
Set PI parameters:
FUn - PI - PIF = AIx where x is the analog input for the PID feedback - Typically AI3 if the feedback signal is a mA input or AI1 if the signal is DC Voltage.
FUn - PI - PII = YES for internal setpoint adjustment
FUn - PI - rPI = reference setpoint as a % of the feedback full range
Example: Transducer is a 0-120 PSI sensor and the customer wants to maintain 60 PSI....The rPI parameter would be set to 50% (half of the sensor range.
If the setpoint was 80PSI then the rPI parameter would be set to 67% (80psi/120psi=.667 or 67%)
Also consider:
FUn - PI - PIC = YES to reverse the PID correction so that a low feedback results in a slower VFD speed to correct
Sleep/Wake function by setting SEt - tLS = low speed timeout and PI - rSL = wake threshold

What are the things to consider in selecting the braking resistors for Altivar drives?
Product Line:
All Altivar Drives
Environment:
All
Cause:
Needs to know if the factors to consider in selecting the braking resistor for Altivar drives
Resolution:
1.) Resistance - Choosing a too low resistance may damage the drive. Too high and it's not as effective as a brake. That's because higher resistance means we will get lower current from the drive. Lower resistance means higher currents and too high current can damage the braking IGBT in the drive.
2.) Watts - Higher wattage means more durable braking resistor.
Reset a fault on a Altivar drive.
Product Line:
Altivar ATV variable speed drives
Environment:
All
Cause:
Need to reset a fault status.
Resolution:
There are multiple ways to reset a fault, including a logic input assignment and communication network. But an easy way to reset a fault is to remove line voltage from L1,L2,L3. Allow enough time for the display to go completely blank and then wait another 30seconds. Reapply power. If the fault appears again, it means that the VFD has re-faulted.
Note: Some faults have to be reset by removing and reapplying line voltage (power-cycling) the drive. Refer to your drive's Programming Manual for a list of faults that require a power cycle to clear.
The following video demonstrates how to configure a logic input fault reset function on the Altivar 212:
Why is the display blank on the trip unit?
Product Line:
Powerpact P frame, Powerpact R Frame, Masterpact NT, Masterpact NW
Resolution:
The LCD display on a Micrologic P or H trip unit will be blank unless the trip unit is energized. Energization requires one of the following sets of conditions:
- The trip unit is energized by an external 24 Vdc applied to terminals F1-F2 (F1 negative-F2 positive). See attachment for location of terminals.
- The trip unit is energized by an FFTK or HHTK test kit
- There is at least 100 V between two phases, AND the load reaches approximately 20% of the breaker's rated current.
- Note that the display will not power up with primary injection testing unless one of the conditions in bullet 1 above is met.
- Note that Ammeter trip units do not require external power and the display will come on with sufficient current flow alone.

- See if motor is stuck or in a locked rotor.
- Check the drive settings (drC- menu) to be sure the motor nameplate information is entered correctly (UnS, FrS, nCr, nSP, COS)
- Check your the Set- menu to be sure ItH (motor thermal current - Overload protection) and CLI (Current limitation) are set properly.
- Measure motor current draw.
Please note the main display on the drive will flash the frequency hz value on and off when its in current limit mode.
The remote HMI VW3A1101 will show CLI in the upper left corner of the HMI if its in Current Limit.
