Connector termination is similar to typical "UTP" or unshielded cables. You can refer to the video here for more details.
The foil is non-contiguous (meaning it is not and end-to-end connected foil or screen). As the cable is not a Shielded Cable, bonding will have no effect and will not provide any earthing properties.
In addition to the improved ‘Alien cross-talk’ performance, some other benefits are:
- Smaller physical dimensions on cable external diameter compared to previous Clipsal Cat6A UTP cable, thus reduced space requirements for multiple cable runs.
- New Cat6A UTP cable weight is 28% lighter than previous product
- New Cat 6A UTP cable uses less raw material to manufacture, resulting in reduced consumption of materials and resources.
- Higher performance against heat rise in case of PoE (Power over Ethernet)
The internal foil is designed to assist with immunity to external noise as defined as ‘Alien cross-talk’. “Alien cross-talk” has a predominant effect on the transmission at 10 Gbps speed. This foil design helps to provide full EMI protection (coupling attenuation (AC) > 55dB, Type II coupling attenuation. ANEXT and AFEXT are proven by design)
