Frequently Asked Questions
hide showLC1D09 - LC1D38 Coil tolerance
Product Line:
Contactors and Starters, IEC
Environment:
Tesys D Contactors
Cause:
Needs the coil tolerance for Tesys D-line contactors LC1D09 - LC1D38.
Resolution:
AC single frequency coils: 50Hz and 60 Hz (-20% / +10%);
AC dual frequency coils: 50Hz (-20% / +10%) ; 60Hz (-15% / +10%)
DC standard coil for LC1D09 -D38 and LC1DT20 to DT40: (-30% / +25%)
DC standard coil for LP1D12 and D25: (-20% / +10%)
DC wide range coil for LP1D12 and D25 : (-30% to +25%)
Identifying maximum voltage of an LC1D contactor
Product Line:
TeSys D Contactors
Environment:
Contactors and Starters IEC
Resolution:
IThe maximum voltage per UL and CSA is 600VAC.
What is the altitude derating for a TeSys D-Line contactor?
Product Line:
Digest 177 Section 18 : Contactors and Starters, IEC
Environment:
North American Products
Resolution:
The contactors are fully rated up to 3000 meters. Following are derating multipliers for altitudes above 3000 meters for both voltage and current:
Voltage
3500m x 0.90
4000m x 0.80
4500m x 0.70
5000m x 0.60
Current
3500m x 0.92
4000m x 0.90
4500m x 0.88
5000m x 0.86
For example, an LC1D80 at 5000 meters:
- The maximum rated operational voltage is 1,000V (IEC947-4) and 690V (UL/CSA). At 5000 meters it becomes 1000V x 0.6 = 600V (IEC947-4) and 690V x 0.6 = 414V (UL/CSA).
- The maximum rated operational AC3 current is 80A. At 5000 meters it becomes 80A x 0.86 = 68A.
Power terminal lug data required for the 9 and 12 amp rated Tesys D contactors
Product Line:
IEC Contactors and Starters
Environment:
Tesys D Contactors
Resolution:
For contactors with screw clamp terminals:
stranded cable w/o cable end : One or Two #18-10 AWG per terminal.
stranded cable w/cable end: One or Two #18-10 AWG per terminal.
solid cable: One or Two #18-8 AWG per terminal.
