The big improvements we’re making

The evolution of our packaging signifies more than just a surface-level makeover; it embodies key changes that drive us towards a greener future:

  1. Single-use plastic phase-out: By 2025, our primary and secondary packaging will be entirely free from single-use plastic, aligning with global efforts to combat plastic’s environmental impact.
  2. Minimum 70% recycled materials: Emphasising sustainability without compromising quality, our new packaging maintains robustness and high quality while integrating a minimum of 70% recycled materials.
  3. Embracing natural processes: Minimising environmental impact, our new packaging reduces the use of harsh chemicals and energy-intensive colouring processes. When colour is essential, we opt for inks made from water and vegetable oil, with a long-term goal of transitioning to sustainable inks universally.
  4. Digitising the customer experience: Integration of a QR code into our packaging minimises waste by providing access to product details and instructions, reducing the necessity for printed materials and paper waste.

Making sustainability simple for Electricians and Homeowners

Clipsal at Schneider Electric’s E-Waste Recycling Bin initiative is another area where we aim to help electricians dispose of their electrical waste in an environmentally responsible way. Our bins serve as the collection point for end-of-life e-waste products and are located at selected wholesalers across Australian and New Zealand.

We also provide innovative energy management solutions through our smart home technologies, such as Wiser™ and C-Bus. These solutions allow homeowners the ability to live a more sustainable lifestyle by allowing them to take control of their energy management through intelligent programming and automation.

With these initiatives, we aim to support electricians with the tools to make a positive environmental impact. Join us in building a greener industry and take advantage of our innovative energy management technologies for a more sustainable lifestyle.
