The Modern Farmhouse

Surrounded by rolling fields and lush bush, Maybree Estate in Tallebudgera Valley on the Gold Coast is the pinnacle of rural living.

The five-bedroom home was built by Wave Developments and is a country home with a luxury finish. Weatherboard cladding, timber and stone detailing, and vaulted ceilings create a farmhouse feel, while the large gourmet kitchen, central courtyard with pool, and glass-walled wine cellar all add contemporary touches.

Large sliding French doors open the home up to the countryside beyond for exceptional indoor/outdoor flow.

Lighting was key to the interior design and Clipsal’s Wiser smart home solution makes managing such a large home simple, linking Clipsal Iconic switches and power points for control of the entire house from the Wiser app.

The Coastal Farmhouse

In the seaside Adelaide suburb of Somerton Park, a new build channels ‘coastal farm’ in a unique design.

Built by Claridge Construction, the home combines brickwork, recycled timber, and even an open fire for a warm, authentic farmhouse feel, while still making the most of its location near the beach.

Stacker doors open the home up to the pool and garden, where huge timber beams repurposed from a jetty demolition are a standout feature in the al fresco area.

Home automation was important to the owners, who wanted modern, functional living. A room-by-room Electric Home Design plan saw Clipsal Wiser linked with Clipsal Iconic switches and power points for whole home control. This lets them set timers and schedules and easily manage features like lighting, fans, the pool and spa, audio visual equipment, and even home security.

The Gothic Farmhouse

There’s a house of contrast and surprise in Adelaide’s Somerton Park, complete with secret doors and an underground tunnel.

Built by Adelaide Green Homes, the modern, angular exterior in stone and dark cladding conceals an interior of softly curved walls and airy, light spaces.

An undulating white staircase leads to the second floor, while a sunken sitting area just beyond looks out to the landscaped garden with pool.

A standout feature is the large underground wine cellar, accessed through a hidden door and along a brickwork tunnel. With soft lighting, a geometric black and white tiled floor, and curved timber seating, it is the ultimate luxury escape.

Lighting was key to achieving the moody atmosphere the owners wanted and Clipsal Wiser made that simple with easy scheduling and dimming of lights throughout the home, linked through Clipsal Iconic switches. Clipsal Wiser also helps with energy efficiency, offering instant control of blinds and heating at the tap of a screen from wherever the owners are.

The Heritage Family Home

In the leafy streets of Adelaide is a beautiful family home that combines heritage features with modern luxury.

Scott Salisbury Construction built the four-bedroom home, which has a classic exterior featuring charred timber detail and pillars in hand-carved natural stone.

Inside, dark walls add elegance while opulent touches include a stone feature wall in the entrance foyer, a large glass-walled wine cellar, and a double shower with curved tiled walls in the master ensuite.

The home’s electrical features are extensive and the Clipsal Wiser smart home system gives the owners easy touch screen control of everything from lighting and air conditioning to the wine cellar temperature. Saturn Zen in Black is a sleek addition to the home’s stylish interior design too.
